CESC gains on winning electricity distribution franchisee in Rajasthan

CESC is currently trading at Rs. 558.05, up by 4.00 points or 0.72% from its previous closing of Rs. 554.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 560.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 560.00 and Rs. 547.50 respectively. So far 9,043 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 623.65 on 20-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 404.75 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 560.90 and Rs. 532.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6,972.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.93% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.65% and 8.42% respectively.

CESC has won the bids floated by Jaipur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam (JVVNL) and has been appointed by JVVNL as distribution franchisee for the cities of Kota and Bharatpur in the state of Rajasthan for distribution and supply of electricity for a term of twenty years each.

CESC is a power generation company. It is engaged in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power. The firm generates solar energy, hydropower and thermal power. The firm also provides consultancy services for setting up power plants and for erecting transformers and electrical equipment.
