Maruti Suzuki to resume production at its Gurgaon facilities from June 1, 2016

01 Jun 2016 Evaluate

Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki will resume production of vehicles at its Gurgaon facilities from June 1. Resumption of production at the Manesar plant may take more time. The Gurgaon plant has a capacity of 700,000 vehicles a year. Manesar is bigger at 800,000 units.

The company is estimated to have lost production of 10,000 vehicles after it was forced to shut operations at both plants on Monday afternoon. The supply of AC units for cars was impacted due to a fire accident at the Manesar unit of auto component-maker Subros.

Maruti Suzuki India (formerly known as Maruti Udyog) is an automobile manufacturer in India. It provides passenger cars, utility vehicles and vans. The firm also offers pre-owned car sales, fleet management and car financing services.
