Akzo Nobel rises on getting CCI’s approval to acquire industrial coatings business of BASF SE

Akzo Nobel India is currently trading at Rs. 1536.90, up by 4.20 points or 0.27% from its previous closing of Rs. 1532.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1540.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1550.00 and Rs. 1526.45 respectively. So far 1215 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1550.00 on 1-June-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1201.00 on 24-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1550.00 and Rs. 1425.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 7171.69 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.96% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.58% and 16.45% respectively.

Paints and coatings manufacturer Akzo Nobel has received fair trade regulator, Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) approval to acquire the industrial coatings business of BASF SE. In February, Akzo Nobel had made an offer to acquire BASF’s industrial coatings business for Euro 475 million.

AkzoNobel India (previously known as ICI India) is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of paints, speciality chemicals and adhesives.
