NHPC advances on the buzz to commission 610 MW hydro projects in FY17

NHPC is currently trading at Rs. 24.65, up by 0.10 points or 0.41% from its previous closing of Rs. 24.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 24.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 24.90 and Rs. 24.30 respectively. So far 7,99,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 24.85 on 02-Jun-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 15.55 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 24.90 and Rs. 22.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 30,382.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 85.96%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.99% and 7.05% respectively.

NHPC, one of the leading utilities firms in the country, is reportedly planning to commission nearly 610 MW hydro projects in FY17.  The company is likely to commission two units of 40 MW each of the 160 MW Teesta Low Dam Project Stage IV in West Bengal and 330 MW Kishanganga projects. The company is also hopeful of commissioning one unit of 200 MW of the 800 MW Parbati II in Himachal Pradesh.
