L&T gains on inking contract to build stadium in Qatar along with its JV partner

L&T is currently trading at Rs. 1501.50, up by 13.45 points or 0.90% from its previous closing of Rs. 1488.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1499.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1503.45 and Rs. 1491.45 respectively. So far 3,028 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1886.25 on 17-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1016.60 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1503.45 and Rs. 1442.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,39,857.00 crore.

The Institutions and Non-Institutions held 54.51% and 43.43% respectively.

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) construction arm -- L&T Constructions, along with its JV partner in Qatar, Al Balagh Trading & Contracting, has signed a contract to build a 40,000 seater stadium, as part of the sports infrastructure being readied by the Emirate in preparation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The contract was announced by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy at a well-attended signing ceremony.

The contract for the project is for a combined value of $360 million for both JV partners and is slated to be completed by 2019. The scope for the stadium includes main works and construction of the site, following completion of the enabling works.
