Reliance Infra commissions fourth 220KV EHV substation at Borivali

30 Mar 2012 Evaluate

Reliance Infrastructure, the largest integrated infrastructure company and also a licensee in power transmission and distribution in Mumbai, has commissioned its fourth 220KV Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation at Borivali.

Commissioning of this extra high voltage substation would facilitate strengthening of Mumbai transmission grid, which is already congested due to the consistent growth in demand over the last few years.  As a result, Mumbai suburban consumers will experience enhanced quality and reliable power supply from their power distribution facilities. This move is also expected to further create an opportunity to open new supply outlets in Borivali East and its adjacent areas. In case, there is demand for power from those areas.

The newly commissioned extra high voltages substation will also enhance the power reliability, reduce the losses and meet the increasing power demand of Maharashtra. This will also reduce the ROW issues for the multiple 33KV cable laying in the already congested areas.
