In this regard, the company’s board recently reviewed the proposals for expansion for supply to both two and four wheeler battery segment and decided to implement a four-phase expansion over the next four years.
This move is likely to take the capacity up from its existing 11 million units per annum (mupa) to 25 mupa. Of the proposed expansion, the first phase, which entails setting up of three additional lines, will enhance the capacity for two-wheelers up from 11 mupa to 15 mupa.
