Canara Bank trades higher on the bourses

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 197.65, up by 5.15 points or 2.68% from its previous closing of Rs. 192.50 on the BSE. 

The scrip opened at Rs. 193.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 198.00 and Rs. 193.15 respectively. So far 282412 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 359.85 on 18-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 156.20 on 29-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 199.75 and Rs. 190.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 10664.34 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.70% and 8.00% respectively.

Canara Bank, a leading nationalized bank, is planning to raise Rs 500 crore this financial year by selling stake in its non-core assets. The bank has decided to sell stakes in Can Fin Homes and Canbank Factors. The bank plans to sell 13% stake in Can Fin Homes and reduce its holding to 30%, while in case of Canara Factors, the bank considering two options, either dispose it off completely or dilute some 20% in the factoring business.

Canara Bank is an Indian state-owned bank headquartered in Bangalore, in Karnataka. It was established at Mangalore in 1906, making it one of the oldest banks in the country.
