ICICI Bank, the largest private sector lender in the country has organized three Coin Exchange Melas in Jammu & Kashmir to offer a free facility of exchanging currency notes with coins to the general public. Two of these melas were held in Jammu at its branches in Sainik Colony and Channi Himmat, while the third was organised at Dhar Road in Udhampur. The melas took place under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India. These events saw participation of more than 100 people. The Bank exchanged total coins worth Rs. 3.75 lakhs in the denomination of Rs.10, Rs.5, Rs.2 and Rs.1 during these melas.
