NHPC rises on plan to set up a 600-MW solar power project in Maharashtra

NHPC is currently trading at Rs 24.50, up by 0.50 points or 2.08% from its previous closing of Rs 24.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 24.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 24.50 and Rs. 23.90 respectively. So far 486896 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 25.60 on 17-Jun-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 15.55 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 25.35 and Rs. 23.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 26624.96 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 85.96%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.99% and 7.05% respectively.

State-run National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) is planning to set up a 600-MW solar power project at the Koyna hydel power complex in Maharashtra, as part of an initiative to expand its solar portfolio.

The company is already carrying out the feasibility and financial viability study for the project, wherein it plans to set up floating solar panels with pumped storage system.

NHPC is an Indian Hydro Power Generation company that was incorporated with an objective to plan, promote and organize an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects.
