NTPC inches up on commissioning Unit 6 of Farakka Super Thermal Power Station

NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 167.55, up by 0.20 points or 0.12% from its previous closing of Rs. 167.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 168.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 169.20 and Rs. 166.30 respectively. So far 42102 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 192.95 on 07-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 152.00 on 23-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 169.20 and Rs. 160.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 137493.12 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 84.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 11.67% and 3.83% respectively.

National Thermal Power Corporation’s (NTPC) Unit 6 of 500 MW of Farakka Super Thermal Power Station is declared for commercial operation with effect from March 04, 2012. With this the commercial capacity of Farakka is 2100 MW and that of NTPC is 31490 MW.

Recently, NTPC had commissioned Unit-IV of 500 MW of Simhadri Super Thermal Power Project on March 30, 2012.

At present, the company operates seven gas-based projects in the country --  413 MW Anta (Rajasthan), 652 MW Auraiya (Uttar Pradesh), 645 MW Kawas (Gujarat), 817 MW Dadri (Uttar Pradesh), 648 MW Jhanor-Gandhar (Gujarat), 350 MW Kayamkulam (Kerala) and 430 MW Faridabad (Haryana)-- with a total capacity of 3,955 MW.
