BGR Energy awarded contract for supply of Super-critical Boilers from NTPC

BGR Energy has received Letter of Award (LoA) from NTPC for the supply of 2x660 MW super-critical boilers to be set up at Solapur in the state of Maharashtra. The order which is valued at Euro 109.79 mio plus Rupee component of 1121 crore, has the execution period of 48 months. The contract provides for price variation and foreign exchange variation risk, which is fully protected.

The company as on February 29, 2012, emerged as the lowest bidder in the NTPC bulk tender for the supply of 11x 660 MW super critical boilers. The projects are located at various places viz., Solapur (in Maharshtra), Meja (Uttar Pradesh), Nabinagar (Bihar) and Raghunathpur (West Bengal).

BGR Energy Systems (BGRESL) is engaged in supplying of systems and equipment and contracting turnkey engineering project. The company started as a joint venture between GEA Energietechnik GmbH, Germany and the promoter B G Raghupathy in order to produce and sell on-line condenser tube cleaning systems, debris filters and rubber cleaning balls used in thermal and nuclear power plants.
