Insecticides India gains on earmarking funds for capacity expansion

Insecticides (India) is currently trading at Rs 410.10, up by 1.95 points or 0.48% from its previous closing of Rs 408.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 410.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 411.00 and Rs 410.00 respectively. So far 700 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 476.80 on 07-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 259.80 on 18-Apr-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 413.60 and Rs 405.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 517.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.69% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.04% and 19.28% respectively.

In a bid to expand its production capacity, Insecticides India is planning to invest Rs 125 crore in the next two years. Moreover, the company is expecting about 50 percent increase in turnover to Rs 850 crore this fiscal on the back of robust demand and ongoing expansions.

The company has already invested Rs 100 crore during the last two years and it will invest the similar amount in the next two years mainly to increase capacity in Gujarat and Jammu plant. Out of the total investment, Rs 25 crore will be invested to set up a new plant and R&D centre in Rajasthan.

Presently, the company’s Jammu plant has a capacity to produce 61 lakh kg of granules per annum. Its manufacturing facility at Chopanki in Rajasthan has a production capacity of 38 lakh kg of bulk chemicals per annum.

Insecticides (India) is India’s leading agro-chemical and pesticides manufacturer. It has entered into technical collaboration with global giants AMVAC, USA for THIMET, which is country’s most popular generic pesticide. It manufactures insecticides formulations for crop protection. It has two formulations manufacturing units: one each in Chopanki, Rajasthan and Samba, Jammu.
