CRISIL assigns fundamental grade ‘4/5’ to Fortis Healthcare

18 Jul 2011 Evaluate

CRISIL Research has assigned a CRISIL IER fundamental grade of ‘4/5’ to Fortis Healthcare (India). The grade indicates that the company’s fundamentals are superior relative to other listed equity securities in India. The rating agency has also assigned a valuation grade of ‘4/5’ to the company.

The grade factors in strong growth prospects of the healthcare industry in India, which is at an inflection point given the shift in demographics, rise in per capita income, pick-up in health insurance and medical tourism.

Fortis Healthcare is engaged in running chain of hospitals. It started its hospital operations in 2001 through its flagship Mohali Hospital. The company has alliance with international partners such as Aetna, Bupa, Cigna, GMC Services, HTH Worldwide, Vanbreda and World Access. These alliance helps the company provide quality, cost effective healthcare, medical expertise, and related health services.
