GAIL gains on inking MoU with Bloom Energy

GAIL (India) is currently trading at Rs. 368.20, up by 4.15 points or 1.14% from its previous closing of Rs. 364.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 364.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 370.35 and Rs. 364.50 respectively. So far 60,283 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 403.00 on 04-Jul-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 260.25 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 374.80 and Rs. 362.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 46,737.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 56.11%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 40.42% and 2.68% respectively.

In order to develop natural gas-based fuel cell power generation, State-run GAIL (India) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with California-based Bloom Energy. This would be a technology which will have less pollution.

The new technology converts fuel into electricity through an electro-chemical process and the use of water is less too in this mode of power generation.

GAIL is India’s flagship natural gas company integrating all aspects of the natural gas value chain including exploration and production, processing, transmission, distribution and marketing and related services.
