State-run Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) is planning to raise Rs 50,000 crore through issue of non- convertible debentures (NCDs). In this regards, the company is seeking its shareholder’s nod on September 21. The company’s board had already cleared the fund raising plans earlier this month.
REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
