NHPC advances on inking pact with BHEL for R&M of Baira Siul power station

NHPC is currently trading at Rs. 26.25, up by 0.65 points or 2.54% from its previous closing of Rs. 25.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 25.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 26.40 and Rs. 25.85 respectively. So far 1,49,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 28.20 on 31-Aug-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 16.00 on 14-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 27.85 and Rs. 25.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 32,289.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.60%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.77% and 11.63% respectively.

State-owned NHPC has signed an agreement with BHEL for renovation and modernization (R&M) of 180 MW Baira Siul power station in Himachal Pradesh. The scope of the agreement includes electromechanical works package comprising supply, installation, commissioning of turbines and accessories and dismantling of the existing system.

Baira Siul will be NHPC’s first power station where R&M works will be undertaken for the purpose of life extension of the generating station. BHEL has been NHPC’s long-standing partner and 11 power stations of NHPC have used BHEL machinery.

NHPC is an Indian Hydro Power Generation company that was incorporated with an objective to plan, promote and organize an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects.
