SJVN slips on reporting marginal fall in Q1 net profit

SJVN is currently trading at Rs. 28.00, down by 0.20 points or 0.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 28.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 27.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 28.55 and Rs. 27.90 respectively. So far 13,031 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 34.45 on 07-Jan-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 24.10 on 29-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 28.85 and Rs. 27.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 11,582.55 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 89.97%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.15% and 2.88% respectively.

The company has reported 0.97% fall in its net profit at Rs 479.96 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 484.67 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The company’s total income increased marginally by 0.84% to Rs 886.68 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 879.26 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

SJVN is a joint venture between the Central government and Himachal Pradesh state government. The company owns and operates India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh.
