Bond yields traded flat on Monday as investors remained cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s two-day meet starting on Tuesday and the Bank of Japan meeting on the same day.
In the global market, U.S. Treasuries yields rose on Friday after data showed that U.S. consumer prices increased more than expected in August, raising the odds that the Federal Reserve will raise rates later this year. Furthermore, oil prices rose after Venezuela said that OPEC and non-OPEC countries were close to reaching an output stabilizing deal and as clashes in Libya raised concerns that efforts to restart crude exports could be disrupted.
Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading flat at its previous close at 7.05% on Friday.
The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading flat at its previous close at 6.94% on Friday.
