Linc Pen and Plastic soars on plan to enter into premium pen category

Linc Pen and Plastic is currently trading at Rs. 54.45, up by 2.10 points or 4.01% from its previous closing of Rs. 52.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 53.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 55.45 and Rs. 53.50 respectively. So far 6731 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 86.00 on 27-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 37.00 on 24-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 55.50 and Rs. 52.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 70.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.44% while Non-Institutions held 30.56% stake in the company. 

Linc Pen and Plastic, a writing instruments maker, is likely to foray premium pen category by launching its brand ‘Cruiser’ by August. These pens will be priced above Rs 1,000 a piece. Currently premium pen market is dominated by global brands like Parker, Mont Blanc and Cross.

The company also plans to consolidate its pencil brands to two to three brands, as it has been a trend in the industry to have multiple pencil brands from the same company. The company plans to increase the prices by 3-5 per cent across select products from May to compensate the increasing cost.
