Maruti Suzuki continues ‘WagonR Think Big Challenge’ into third addition

Maruti Suzuki, country’s largest car maker has continued its WagonR Think Big Challenge into its third edition to enable young entrepreneurs convert their ideas into a viable business. This will provide funding to the winner - Rs 10 lakh from the general category and Rs 1 lakh for college student, apart from an opportunity to get the idea funded by venture capitalists.

In the last season, the company observed a response from over 45,000 registrations and this year it expects more participation. The initial round of registrations for the general category started on April 11 through the net and 160 company dealerships across 19 cities. Registrations for college students begin in the last week of April. The company has invited business ideas from students of around 120 colleges from 12 cities.

In recent years, Maruti Suzuki engineers have acquired significant know-how and hands on experience in different areas of automobile R&D. They have co-designed and developed global models like Swift and the recent one Ertiga, with their counterparts in Suzuki, Japan. Besides, the company has introduced the highly acclaimed light weight and fuel efficient K-series petrol engine with next generation engine technology. In the area of alternate fuel technology too, Maruti Suzuki engineers have successfully designed and developed CNG and LPG vehicles.
