Canara Bank slips on reporting 33% fall in Q2 net profit

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 312.00, down by 2.20 points or 0.70% from its previous closing of Rs. 314.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 310.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 316.00 and Rs. 308.00 respectively. So far 1,35,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 339.20 on 05-Oct-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 156.20 on 29-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 328.95 and Rs. 308.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16,941.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.60% and 7.10% respectively.

The Bank has reported 32.51% fall in its net profit at Rs 356.91 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 528.86 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the Bank decreased by 2.33% at Rs 12187.12 crore for the quarter under review as compared Rs 12477.95 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.  

The Bank’s gross NPA for the July-September quarter of the current fiscal increased to 9.81%, as compared to 4.27% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, Bank’s Net NPA stood at 6.69% in Q2FY17.
