Canara Bank trades with traction on the bourses

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 300.30, up by 10.20 points or 3.52 % from its previous closing of Rs. 290.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 293.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 302.40 and Rs. 293.20 respectively. So far 197236 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 339.20 on 05-Oct-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 156.20 on 29-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 318.90 and Rs. 286.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16338.60 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.30%, while institutions and non-institutions held 26.60% and 7.10% respectively.

Canara Bank, a leading nationalized bank, is reportedly planning to set up more branches in the 13 districts in rural and semi urban areas of Andhra Pradesh. The bank is aiming to open 30 more branches before March, 2017. Furthermore, the bank has 350 ATM centers across the state and planning to set up another 25 ATM centers in Vijayawada.

Canara Bank is an Indian state-owned bank headquartered in Bangalore, in Karnataka. It was established at Mangalore in 1906, making it one of the oldest banks in the country. The Bank has reported 32.51% fall in its net profit at Rs 356.91 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 528.86 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
