SpiceJet to operate international flight from Madurai Airport

SpiceJet, India’s most preferred budget airline will soon operate an international flight from Madurai Airport. The airline carrier has received a green signal whereby the Civil Aviation Ministry has approved its proposal for connecting the city with Sri Lankan capital Colombo.

With the commencement of this flight, the carrier will become the first airline to operate an international flight from Madurai Airport. When SpiceJet starts operation, Madurai will become the third airport in Tamil Nadu to operate international flights.

SpiceJet operates 270 flights a day connecting 32 domestic cities and two global destinations -- Kathmandu and Colombo.
