MRF rises on reporting 67% jump in Q2 net profit

MRF is currently trading at Rs. 11350.00, up by 115.80 points or 1.03% from its previous closing of Rs. 11234.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 11270.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 11436.00 and Rs. 11260.20 respectively. So far 1,464 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 11570.00 on 26-Apr-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 6200.00 on 29-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 11570.00 and Rs. 10965.45 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4813 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 26.97% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.09% and 58.94% respectively.

Tyre maker MRF has reported 67.09% increase in standalone net profit, for the second quarter ended March 31, at Rs 150.13 crore. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 89.85 crore in the same period last year.

The company’s total income from operations surged 25.55% during the second quarter to Rs 2,992.80 crore from Rs 2,383.79 crore in the year-ago period.

MRF (Madras Rubber Factory) is India’s No.1 tyre manufacturing company. Currently, the company exports tyres to over 65 countries including America, Europe, Middle East, Japan, and the Pacific region.
