HCC surges on getting approval for arbitral award of Rs 2,000 crore

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) is currently trading at Rs. 38.30, up by 4.10 points or 11.99% from its previous closing of Rs. 34.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 37.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 39.50 and Rs. 37.50 respectively. So far 12,70,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 41.90 on 14-Sep-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 16.60 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 39.50 and Rs. 32.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,980.28 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 36.07%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.93% and 39.00% respectively.

HCC will receive arbitral award payment of approximately Rs 2,000 crore from NHPC and NHAI within 4-6 weeks. The company has been asked to reconcile the award amount within 7 days and thereafter open escrow account and submit bank guarantees (BGs) within 30 days for recovering the amount.

NITI Ayog has given the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for release of payment for timely implementation. HCC has arbitration awards for Rs 3,427 crore as of September 30, 2016. Further, claims worth around Rs 4,173 crore are in arbitration process.
