Canara Bank gains on plan to dilute stake in Canbank Factors, Can Fin Homes

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 314.45, up by 2.60 points or 0.83% from its previous closing of Rs. 311.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 315.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 316.70 and Rs. 313.90 respectively. So far 53,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 339.20 on 05-Oct-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 156.20 on 29-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 322.40 and Rs. 306.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 17,060.78 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.60% and 7.10% respectively.

Canara Bank has received an approval to float an RFP for empanelling the Investment / Merchant Bankers for diluting the bank’s stake of 70% in Canbank Factors (Unlisted Company) and of 13.45% in Can Fin Homes (Listed Company). The Sub-Committee of the Board of the Bank through orders dated December 02, 2016, has approved for the same. Accordingly, the Bank is taking steps to float an RFP for empanelling the Investment / Merchant Bankers for the same.

Canara Bank is an Indian state-owned bank headquartered in Bangalore, in Karnataka. It was established at Mangalore in 1906, making it one of the oldest banks in the country.
