Bajaj Auto firms up on reporting 4% growth in April sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs 1634.00, up by 10.90 points or 0.67% from its previous closing of Rs 1623.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 1622.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1638.50 and Rs 1622.00 respectively. So far 5687 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1839.00 on 29-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 1260.05 on 18-May-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 1686.15 and Rs 1578.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 46967.16 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.86% and 25.07% respectively.

Bajaj Auto, the country’s second largest two-wheeler maker’s monthly sales (excluding exports) for April 2012 rose by 4% at 381,590 units against 367,309 in the same month last year. The exports for the month rose 7% and the numbers of units sold were 169,010 units against 158,422 in the same period last year.

The company has posted a 19.19% rise in net profit at Rs 795 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2011 against Rs 667 crore for the same period last year. It has reported revenues at Rs 4,840 crore for the quarter under review up by 21.61% against Rs 3,980 for the same quarter a year ago.
