SJVN inches lower on reporting 8% fall in Q2 net profit

SJVN is currently trading at Rs. 31.20, down by 0.05 points or 0.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 31.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 31.35 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 31.70 and Rs. 31.10 respectively. So far 28,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 35.00 on 27-Oct-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 26.00 on 09-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 34.00 and Rs. 30.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12,906.27 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 89.97%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.24% and 2.79% respectively.

The company has reported 7.67% fall in its net profit at Rs 521.87 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 565.24 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 5.81% at Rs 944.50 crore for the quarter under review as compared Rs 1002.75 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

SJVN is a joint venture between the Central government and Himachal Pradesh state government. The company owns and operates India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh.
