Fortis Healthcare is currently trading at Rs. 175.40, up by 5.20 points or 3.06% from its previous closing of Rs. 170.20 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 174.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 177.75 and Rs. 174.25 respectively. So far 61,000 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 199.00 on 16-Aug-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 141.10 on 12-Feb-2016.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 177.75 and Rs. 169.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 8,131.92 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 70.28%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.56% and 11.16% respectively.
Cash strapped brothers Malvinder and Shivinder Singh are reportedly in active discussions with private equity group TPG Capital to sell a significant minority stake in Fortis Healthcare. The transaction may also see the folding back of the Singapore listed business trust into the listed Indian entity.
The quantum of stake sale is yet to be finalized but it will be a minimum of 26%. Beyond that, the acquisition will trigger an open offer for an additional 25% equity.
