Hindustan Copper slips on reporting 11% fall in Q2 net profit

Hindustan Copper is currently trading at Rs. 61.90, down by 1.30 points or 2.06% from its previous closing of Rs. 63.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 64.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 64.60 and Rs. 60.90 respectively. So far 283529 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 73.60 on 22-Aug-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 42.30 on 19-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 65.85 and Rs. 60.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5717.85 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 82.95%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.94% and 9.11% respectively.

Hindustan Copper reported 11.04% fall in its net profit at Rs 6.77 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 7.61 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 10.40% at Rs 213.72 crore for the quarter under review as compared Rs 238.54 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.  

Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
