Hero MotoCorp reports 20% jump in Q4 net profit

Two-wheeler motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has reported a 20.30% rise in net profit at Rs 603.5 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012. It was Rs 501.6 crore in the same period a year ago. The total income increased 12.22% to Rs 6,140 crore from Rs 5,471.3 crore in March 2011.

The company’s other income up by 31.25% at Rs 105 crore while it was Rs 80 crore in March 2011.

For the full year, the company posted positive results. Its net profit jumped 23.35% to Rs 2,378.1 crore for the financial year ended March 2012. It was Rs 1,928 crore in March 2011.

The total income rose 21.62% at Rs 23,943.6 crore as against Rs 19,687.5 crore in the previous financial year ending March 2011.

The company announced a dividend of Rs 45 per share. It has raised prices of most of its products by Rs 500-1,000 with immediate effect to offset rising input costs.
