HDFC Bank may sell insurance products of different companies

HDFC Bank, the second-largest private lender, will soon start selling rivals’ insurance products as well. The bank has shortlisted four life and general insurance companies, including Bharti Axa, Birla Sun Life, Tata AIA and Bajaj Allainz. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) had recently allowed banks to tie up with up to three companies to sell their insurance products.

HDFC Bank is one of India’s premier banks providing a wide range of financial products and services to its 32 million customers across hundreds of Indian cities using multiple distribution channels including a pan-India network of branches, ATMs, phone banking, net banking and mobile banking.
