Orchid Pharma gets USFDA nod for Naratriptan tablets

Chennai-based global pharma major, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals (Orchid Pharma) has received an approval from USFDA for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for Naratriptan tablets in the 1mg and 2.5mg strengths. Naratriptan tablets are the generic equivalent of GSK's Amerge tablets.

Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals is a pharmaceutical company engaged in development and manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms. It is also engaged in research of new drugs. The company was incorporated in the year 1992 as a 100% export-oriented unit (EOU).

With exports spanning more than 75 countries, Orchid is the largest manufacturer-exporter of cephalosporin bulk actives in India and is ranked amongst the Top 5-cephalosporin producers in the world.
