Larsen & Toubro (L&T) would be setting up nearly 10,000 surveillance cameras at Pune in state of Maharashtra, under the Centre’s Digital India mission. The engineering major had already installed 9,000 cameras in Mumbai.
Earlier in October, the company’s construction arm had bagged contract under smart city programme in India. L&T Construction’s Smart World and Communication Business Unit had signed the formal contract with the Department of Information & Technology, Maharashtra Government. Under this contract, Nagpur would be converted into the country’s first large-scale integrated Smart City.
L&T is a technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing company. It is one of the largest and most respected companies in India's private sector.
