Tata Motors surges on plan of setting up innovation centres globally

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 503.35, up by 5.55 points or 1.11% from its previous closing of Rs. 497.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 500.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 504.00 and Rs. 492.55 respectively. So far 198845 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 598.60 on 07-Sep-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 266.00 on 11-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 507.85 and Rs. 469.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 142627.86 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.00%, while institutions and non-institutions held 40.58% and 7.95% respectively.

Tata Motors is aiming to be among the top three passenger vehicle makers in India by 2019. In this regard, the company is planning to set up innovation centres globally. The first innovation centre has been set up in proximity to the Silicon Valley, US.

The company is keenly exploring opportunities in mobility services that would allow it to offer seamless solutions to its customers in the future.

Tata Motors is India's largest automobile company. Through subsidiaries and associate companies, Tata Motors has operations in the UK, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia. Among them is Jaguar Land Rover, the business comprising the two iconic British brands.
