REC surges as its arm incorporated three project specific SPVs

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) is currently trading at Rs. 138.45, up by 1.50 points or 1.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 136.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 137.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 139.10 and Rs. 136.45 respectively. So far 201718 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 140.95 on 24-Oct-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 76.25 on 24-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 139.10 and Rs. 127.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 27075.53 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.64%, while institutions and non-institutions held 28.36% and 11.01% respectively.

REC's wholly owned subsidiary - REC Transmission Projects Company (RECTPCL), has incorporated three project specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), as a wholly owned subsidiary companies of RECTPCL.

The company has incorporated WR-NR Power Transmission for execution of New WR - NR 765 kv Inter-regional corridor project; ERSS XXI Transmission for execution of Eastern Region Strengthening Scheme - XXI project and Ghatampur Transmission for execution of transmission system for evacuation of power from 3x660 MW Ghatampur Thermal project.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
