Vedanta reports 44% jump in mined metal production during Q3FY17

Vedanta has reported the production numbers for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2016. The company’s mined metal production is up by 44% q-o-q in line with mine plan. The production of integrated metal production increased q-o-q; zinc by 38%, lead by 26% and silver by 10%. The company has received environment clearances for expansion of Zawar and Sindesar Khurd mines.

The company continued ramp up of Jharsuguda-II and BALCO-II smelters; third line of the 1.25 mtpa Jharsuguda-II smelter commenced ramp up in December 2016. The supply of coal has commenced from the 6mtpa coal linkages secured earlier this year. 1,980MW TSPL plant has been fully operational with 77% plant availability.

The Oil & Gas production in Rajasthan has been impacted by planned shutdown. However, there was strong performance from Mangala EOR with production level of 55,000 barrels per day despite shutdown.
