Canara Bank reports around four-fold jump in Q3 net profit

Canara Bank has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2016.

The Bank has posted around four-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 321.88 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 84.97 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015. Total income of the Bank increased by 0.24% at Rs 12079.37 crore for Q3FY17 as compared Rs 12050.63 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

The Bank’s gross NPA for the October-December quarter of the current fiscal increased to 9.97%, as compared to 5.84% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, Bank’s Net NPA stood at 6.72% in Q3FY17.
