Amara Raja Batteries declines on reporting 18% fall in Q3 net profit

Amara Raja Batteries is currently trading at Rs. 863.95, down by 8.25 points or 0.95% from its previous closing of Rs. 872.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 880.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 880.00 and Rs. 860.40 respectively. So far 12454 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1077.00 on 06-Sep-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 803.80 on 12-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 942.50 and Rs. 857.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14758.20 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.06%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.64% and 18.29% respectively.

Amara Raja Batteries has reported 17.91% fall in its net profit at Rs 112.32 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016, as compared to Rs 136.82 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 9.73% at Rs 1515.25 crore for the quarter under review as compared Rs 1380.89 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Amara Raja Batteries is engaged in manufacturing of industrial and automotive batteries. The company was first to introduce Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries with three-year warranty in industrial and automotive applications.
