NLC India is installing 500 MW solar power plants for Rs 2170 crore at various places in Tamil Nadu. The power plants are expected to generate 83 crore Unit of power per annum, by taking into consideration of 19% of capacity utilization factor (CUF) on an average. The power would be generated within 13 months, from the date of work order, given. The company plans to set up more windmills with power generating capacity of 200 MW in Tamil Nadu.
NLC India is engaged in the business of lignite mining and power generation. The company has reported 13.62% fall in its net profit at Rs 300.42 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 347.79 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
