Mahindra & Mahindra resumes operations at Nashik plant

Mahindra & Mahindra, country’s largest auto maker has resumed operations at its Nashik plant post the containment of the fire break-out. Nashik plant started normal operation from the second shift on May 10, 2012. The plant works in two shifts and has a production capacity of 500 vehicles a day. The production loss in the first shift is estimated to be around 250 vehicles.

The Satpur plant in Nashik, which manufactures utility vehicles such as Scorpio and Bolero, had caught fire on May 9 in the early morning hours. The fire lasted for five hours and had affected the Scorpio/Xylo TCF lines of Nasik Plant 1 manufacturing unit. No one was injured in the fire.
