Canara Bank declines on reporting 7.77% fall in Q4 net profit

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 415.60, down by 3.20 points or 0.76% from its previous closing of Rs. 418.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 417.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 424.00 and Rs. 412.80 respectively. So far 41937 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 591.80 on 12-May-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 349.05 on 27-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 437.85 and Rs. 390.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 18355.71 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.72% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.47% and 6.81% respectively.

Canara Bank has reported results for fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012

The bank has posted a fall of 7.77% in its net profit at Rs 829.09 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 898.90 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 22.94% at Rs 9036.75 crore for quarter under review as compared Rs 7350.59 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011

For the full year ended March 31, 2012, the bank has posted a fall of 18.46% in its net profit at Rs 3282.72 crore for the year ended March 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 4025.89 crore for the same period in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 31.17% at Rs 33778.22 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 25751.53 crore for the period ended March 31, 2011.
