Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has received an approval for sale and transfer of 50,000 equity shares of NER II Transmission held by its wholly owned subsidiary - REC Transmission Projects Company to Sterlite Grid 4. The board of director at its meeting held on February 14, 2017 has approved for the same pursuant to approval of the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
