REC surges on inking two pacts with Jharkhand utilities for loan worth Rs 15,150 crore

Rural Electrification Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 147.75, up by 3.65 points or 2.53% from its previous closing of Rs. 144.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 145.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 148.25 and Rs. 145.20 respectively. So far 298561 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 151.90 on 27-Jan-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 76.25 on 24-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 148.25 and Rs. 139.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29089.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.64%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.35% and 10.02% respectively.

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has inked two pacts with Jharkhand utilities for providing financial assistance of Rs 15,150 crore.

The State-run company has inked pacts with Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam (JBVNL) for Rs 8,150 crore and Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam (JUSNL) for Rs 7,000 crore on February 17, 2017 at Khelgaon, Ranchi.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
