REC jumps on entering into MoU with Damodar Valley Corporation

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) is currently trading at Rs. 172.30, up by 5.80 points or 3.48 % from its previous closing of Rs. 166.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 166.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 172.55 and Rs. 166.55 respectively. So far 255535 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 173.35 on 24-Mar-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 76.40 on 24-May-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 173.35 and Rs. 163.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 33869.10 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.64%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.35% and 10.02% respectively.

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for extending financial assistance to the tune of Rs 4,650 crore for ongoing and upcoming projects of DVC.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
