Bajaj Auto to set up an assembly line in Malaysia: Report

Bajaj Auto is reportedly in advanced talks with a Malaysian company for setting up a dedicated assembly line in Malaysia. The company is holding discussions with Motosikal Dan Enjin Nasional (Modena) for producing its range of bikes, including the latest Dominar brand, in an attempt to reduce dependence on the troubled African markets.

Bajaj Auto is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. The company has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal. The company has registered a fall of 10.99% in total sales to 272,197 units in March 2017 against 305,800 units in March 2016.
