Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has reported sales of 591,306 units of two-wheelers in the month of April. The company continues to command a dominant share in the domestic two-wheeler market. The company had sold 612,739 units in the corresponding month last year (April 2016).
The two-wheeler industry witnessed heavy retail off-take towards the end of March 2017 in view of transistion from BS III to BS IV vehicles. With the ongoing marriage season, the company expects to maintain the trend of robust sales in May. Further, the company is hiking prices - ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 2,200 - across different models to partially offset the commodity cost increases, with effect from May 1, 2017.
