Prabhat Dairy plans to garner 50% business from B2C products by 2020: Report

Prabhat Dairy is reportedly expecting to draw 50% of its business from B2C products by 2020 on hopes of increasing capacity utilisation in the coming years. Currently, the company draws 30% of its business from the segment.

The company’s B2C products include liquid milk, cheese, paneer, curd and the recently launched ice-cream which it sells through retail outlets and modern trade. However, as of now, 70% of its business comes from B2B segment, which includes supply of products to players like Mondelez, Abbott, Parle, Nestle and Future Group, among others.

As part of its expansion plans, the company is looking to market its products through 2,00,000 retail outlets in the next two years, up from 1,00,000 outlets right now.

Prabhat Dairy is an integrated milk and dairy products company in India catering to institutional as well as retail customers. The company’s integrated business model encompasses almost all aspects of the dairy industry value chain, including cattle feed supply, engaging with farmers on cattle health and milk production, etc.
