Airline stocks gain on expectations of cheaper fuel

Jet Airways (India) is currently trading at Rs. 482.75, up by 14.55 points or 3.11% from its previous closing of Rs. 468.20 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 472.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 491.65 and Rs. 472.50 respectively. So far 258023 shares were traded on the counter.

Global Vectra Helicorp is currently trading at Rs. 130.80, up by 8.55 points or 6.99% from its previous closing of Rs. 122.25 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 133.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 139.00 and Rs. 126.10 respectively. So far 231009 shares were traded on the counter.

InterGlobe Aviation is currently trading at Rs. 1095.05, up by 21.35 points or 1.99% from its previous closing of Rs. 1073.70 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 1085.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1107.40 and Rs. 1083.10 respectively.

Airline stocks like Jet Airways gained traction on expectations that a slide in oil prices would reduce carriers' fuel cost. Crude oil skidded 5% after OPEC and allied producers announced extended output cuts that disappointed investors.
